I felt that the lotus flowers were somewhat divine, but to avoid damage from the typhoon, my mother used them for offerings and I used them for Takuga (painting).
I printed a large lotus flower called “Ogura no Akebono” which was in bloom on the third day, with my face reddening in the blazing sun. It was very difficult because the ink dried quickly after spraying. I can’t tell you how many times I said “please” (to the sun, the wind, and the lotus). I managed to adjust the composition of the sumi ink, but it only transferred thinly, so I hope the coloring will bring back that beautiful lotus.
