胡桃と一緒に津南からもらってきた稲も無事作品になりました。
この稲は”国の花”をテーマにした展示の際、青い出雲民藝紙に摺った麦と対にして展示しました。
農地改修をきっかけに高齢になった母の従姉妹たちは稲作を辞めてしまったのでこれが本当に最後の貴重なお米になりました。作品として残せてよかった。
Along with the walnuts, the rice from Tsunan was also successfully made into a work of art.
This rice was displayed at the Takuga exhibition with the theme of “Flower of the Nation,” paired with wheat Takuga on blue Izumo Mingei paper.
My mother’s elderly cousins quit rice cultivation after the farm was renovated, so this was really the last precious rice I had left. I am glad I could leave it as a work of takuga.

When I had received seedlings from Tsunan and grew them at home, the sparrows seemed to throw a party as soon as the seedlings bore fruit, and they ate them all up.
